Racquet Stringing Onsite
How do you know whether your racquet needs new strings?

The USRSA supports the industry-standard recommendation of restringing as many times per year as you play in a week. This advice is typically given to those who don’t play that much, and seem to be looking for any excuse not to restring. Some recreational players may even go more than a year without restringing making it very difficult to try and reproduce year old string tension when a string does finally break.

New strings can help your game and by lowering the tension help those suffering from tennis elbow issues. Speak with Arthur Wolf our Club Pro/Stringer to find out more on string tension. Most players never break their strings but still require periodic string replacement.

Most racquets are strung offsite on the Gamma electronic machine although we have a manual TOA machine in the clubhouse for back-up. The usual turnaround time for stringing is 24 – 48 hours. The following strings are currently in stock:

Babolat Super Fine Play 16 (Playability rating 6.96)
Gosen OG-Sheep Micro 16 (Playability rating 6.86)
Wilson Sensation 16 (Playability rating 7.62)
Forten Competition Nylon 16 (unrated)
Prince Synthetic Gut w/ Duraflex 16 (Playability rating 6.72)
Head Fibregel Power 16 (Playability rating 7.78) (for use with tennis elbow problems)
Please be aware that strings can be ruined by extreme temperatures. Do not leave your racquets in hot/cold cars as the strings lose their elasticity and can be ruined in a very short period of time. When travelling please keep your racquets within the pressurized cabin of the airplane. String stencilling of logos is free.

Tennis Balls
We stock PENN regular compression hard court balls in both green and pink (support breast cancer research). In addition we have low compression training balls for ¾ court (orange) and full court (green dot). We can also order you in a case (24 tins) if your family uses a lot of balls.

Please consider donating your used balls to our lesson programs by depositing them into the beige courtside boxes on courts 1 & 5 or dropping them off at the clubhouse. When balls are even too old for our lessons we donate them to schools/boy scouts.

Overgrips
We stock some fun and funky coloured Wilson overgrips for racquets in which the original grip is worn down or dirty. Refresh your racquet for only $3.00. Overgrips can also be used to increase the grip size of junior racquets. Many players change their overgrips every 25 hours of play or every 3 months.

Membership Booklets & Shoe Tags
Both are purple this year and are available for pick up in the clubhouse to members during office hours.

Member Services Staff
Alec, Ingrid, Kabir, Sawyer, and Stephen are here to help answer your questions or get you answers to questions. They are looking forward to meeting you in person or on the courts. Each hour they will be going out to the courts to match up the court booking system with the members on the court. They will also be periodically emptying the courtside garbage containers so please help them by indentifying yourself and putting any garbage in the containers. They would also like to collect any guest fees owing so don’t be shy and stop by.

Coffee Onsite
This is a new service offered this year. You can purchase from the front desk an individually brewed coffee using our new KEURIG machine. There are several different coffee flavours to choose from all for only a $ loonie. Great for parents during the Saturday kids morning program or before an evening match.

If you have any suggestions for improving our clubhouse services please contact Arthur Wolf
